Nuclear energy was once hailed as the energy source of the future but the general public were never convinced that it was safe and accidents such as Chernobyl and Three Mile Island proved the public fears were justified. After Cherobyl in particular it looked like the building of nuclear power stations was off the agenda for most governments. However, with the Kyoto Protocol agreement on the verge of being ratified does nuclear energy represent the only way to achieve the targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions? How do you view nuclear power and what do you think of alternatives such as wind farms?
