The 2004 Olympic Games in Athens finally ended 29 August. The Olympic torch now passes to China as Beijing prepares to host the Games in 2008. Despite early concerns that Athens would not be ready in time the Greeks would appear to have proved their critics wrong and hosted a successful games.
