The number of children born out of wedlock in both the United States and the United Kingdom has steadily been increasing year on year. Such trends used to be associated with single parent families that suffered from low incomes and lived in deprived areas. Now though it appears that couples from all walks of life and social groups are deciding more and more to have children out of wedlock as a life style choice. Is there still a stigma attached to children born out of wedlock? Do you feel that it is detrimental to children when they learn that their parents are not married?
