Anyone For A Holiday In Space?

Sir Richard Branson, the boss of Virgin has signed a £14m agreement which will see his company take passengers into space. Five "spaceliners" are being built in the US by the team behind the SpaceShipOne vehicle which in June 2004 became the first privately owned rocket plane to go above 100km. Although weightlessness would be achieved on the proposed flights they will not be able to achieve orbital heights. Sir Richard says that flights on the "Virgin Galactic" spaceliner should begin in about three years' time. Would you want to go into space and how much would you be prepared to pay?

Beslan Tragedy

In a Russian school at Beslan on September 3 2004 over 330 people, half of them children, lost their lives in a brutal and barbaric manner. Yet another example of the extreme hatred that can exists between mankind. It is thought that the act was carried out due to the situation in Chechnya but whatever the cause can such acts ever be justified? What do you think drives men and women to inflict such calculated pain and suffering on innocent people? Will there ever be a solution or will the events of Beslan only stoke a fire of hatred for the current and future generations?
